1,893 new samples were processed for June 11th to June 13th, 2022, out of which, 287 resulted positive and there are 212 new recoveries.   The geographic breakdown is as follows: Corozal 12 (4 in Corozal Town, and 1 of each in Concepcion, Patchakan, Progresso, Ranchito, San Antonio, San Victor, Sarteneja and Xaibe) Orange Walk 15 (8 in Orange Walk Town, 3 in Trail Farm and 1 of each in Guinea Grass, San Jose Palmar, San Lorenzo, Santa Martha and Trial Farm) Belize 130(105 in Belize City, 5 of each in Burrel Boom, Hattieville and Ladyville, 3 in Caye Caulker,2 each in Maskall and Sandhill, and 1 of each in Double Head Cabbage, Lords Bank and Scotland Halfmoon) 13 in San Pedro Town Cayo 74 (29 in Belmopan, 9 in San Ignacio, 7 in Santa Elena, 5 in Benque Viejo, 4 in Roaring Creek, 3 each in Camalote and San Martin, 2 each in Maya Mopan, Succotz and Teakettle, and 1 of each in Blackman Eddy, Bullet Tree Falls, Georgeville, Las Flores, Ontario, Salva Pan, San Antonio and St. Matthews) Stann Creek30(15 in Dangriga, 6 in Placencia, 4 in Pomona, 2 each in Hopkins and Independence and 1 in Sarawee) Toledo13 (6 in Punta Gorda, 2 each in Forest Home and Santa Teresa and 1 each in Crique Jute, Elridgeville and Indian Creek) Currently, there are 6 active hospitalizations.   The cumulative report shows that, from March 22nd, 2020 to June 13th 2021, 61,150 have been confirmed. Out of that number, 58,605 have recovered whilst 678 have died. Belize now registers 1,782 active cases, 964 women and 818 men. The Ministry of Health and Wellness continues its COVID19 vaccine campaign countrywide. Vaccines are now available for everyone; 18 years and older and Pfizer for Children ages 12 – 17. Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any public health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine. We also encourage persons 5 years and older to get vaccinated as soon as you can. If you are eligible to take a booster shot, please do so as well. We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often.
